Duro Olowu Biography – Age

Duro Olowu is an international Nigerian fashion designer. He was born in Lagos Nigeria, to a Nigerian father and a Jamaican Mother, he was raised between Nigeria and England. Duro followed in his father’s footsteps to become a lawyer but it was not too long before he gave it up to pursue his passion for fashion.

The popular fashionista launched his first self-titled women’s wear label in October 2004 with a collection for Spring/Summer 2005. He is married to Thelma Golden (Chief Curator and Director of the Studio Museum in Harlem) and was also awarded  the International Designer of the Year Award at the 2010 Africa Fashion Awards, in Johannesburg.
