Born on May 31, 1988, Dumi Masilela was a South African actor, singer and a one time soccer player who came to limelight after his role as 23-year-old street kid Sifiso Ngema, in the e.tv soap opera Rhythm City. In 2012, he was part of the eighth season of the M-Net singing competition Idols after he was involved in a car accident which diminished his football career at SuperSport United.

Sadly he died on Thursday, 3rd of August 2017 after suffering from gunshot wounds from the process of being hijacked on the Wednesday night in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni. His wife is Simphiwe Ngema an actress and a presenter.
