The Nigerian Female DJ SoupaModel Real / Full Name is Kehinde Olatunde, she is Nigerian-American whose prowess
at spinning the disc got her to work with top international acts. She
is the official DJ to American singer T-Pain. She resides in Washington DC and is the
CEO of a music
production company MusicBlvdGroup. Internationally she
has worked with Wyclef, Jason Derulo, Mims, Soulja Boy, Nappyboy to list
a few. Locally she teamed with Tolu of Project Fame to produce a love
song tagged “Arewa”.
Music Producer, Songwriter, Vocal Arranger, Music Supervisor, Remixer,
and Disc Jockey are just few words that describe DJ Soupamodel.
DJSoupamodel is africa’s 1st female disc jockey and female music
producer, making a staggering impact in today’s international music
scene. Her recent work with Grammy Award winning king of dancehall
Beenie Man, “ms international” has been got the industry buzzing about
such creativity, diversity and talent.
She produced, wrote, and vocal
arranged the record. Raised in Africa, UK and the US, you can refer to
her as Ms. International. When asked what djsoupamodel’s production can
be compared to, she replied ” it dont think i can be compared to
anyone”. When most people are going left, i go all the way right , while
still keeping it fresh”. ” I dont make music as most producers can do
that, i CREATE music”, there’s a huge difference”. Her unique sound
comes from her exposure to different backgrounds and cultures. “Been
exposed to many parts of the world growing up (Africa, UK, and U.S), has
given her a slight advantage and tend to infuse it into her work.
I
experiment a lot. In fact, my most recent production for Mims is a
mixture of electro, dubstep and south african drums (percussions). Now,
thats sick! DJ soupamodel is the CEO of MBG (musicblvdgroup) a full
indie label, music production, artist development, and branding company.
MB specializes in all facets of music production including but not
limited to artists, remixing, film, tv, commercials, etc. We have
several international producers and songwriters on board currently. MB
signed the super talented remixers R.E.E.O in 2010 and has worked with
pretty much all artists till date. Her affiliations include Core DJS,
NappyboyDJS and The Recording Academy (Grammys).
As a member of Core
DJs, her responsibilities include hosting the monthly Core DJS
International Mixtape, thats scheduled to start this september. Serves
as a channel for great and talented artists all across the world to have
a platform to be heard in a continent outside of there, hence having
that international audience and fanbase. MB’s past, current and upcoming
projects includes (but not limited too) Wyclef, Jason Derulo, Mims,
Soulja Boy, Nappyboy, Rupee, Wizkid, PM Dawn, New Boyz, Day 26 (1/4),
International award winning superstar artists (M.I, Ice prince, BankyW,
2face, etc) and several Film/TV shows.
She looks
forward to working with the likes of Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Tinie
Tempah, Rihanna, etc. In the meantime, she’s focused on building and
maintaining herself as a reputable music producer, songwriter, label
owner, artist manager and role model.
