Naima Kay’s (an Arabic name defining Peace and Tranquility, given to her by her manager) birth name is Lungile Khumalo. She is a South African Afro-jazz sensational singer. Discovered by Touch Africa Records, at a jazz festival in Port Shepstone, where she grew up, she started singing and writing songs in her school choir. Naima is the 2014 South African Music Award (Sama) Best Newcomer award winner.
Naima ended up becoming one of the local artists to open the Durban Jazz Festival. Reports shows she was born in 1991, but we are yet to confirm.
