Mr Don

Zambian musician Mr Don was born sometime in the 1990, He was given birth to at Kabwe, Zambia. He came to lime light with his first album which dominated Eastern Province and
Chipata especially.

Early life

 In 1997 at the age of seven, moved from Kabwe his birthplace to Katete to begin his primary education. Though
not amused with his change of location to a place far from the line of rail, it turned out to be a blessing in
disguise for Mr Don. While at Katete boma primary school, he discovered his passion for music. Given the
limited freedom during his primary school days, he only begun his music journey while at hillside basic school in
Chipata between 2003 and 2005.
 
After listening to songs like ‘Chikashana’ of the legend Joe Chibangu, he was
greatly inspired and motivated.
He recorded his first song in 2005 in chipata before going to do his high school at Chizongwe Technical High
School in Chipata from 2006 to 2008.

Music career

It was during his high school that he would find time to sample impressive
music during cultural nights at school and other places. His music journey advanced when he recorded his first
Album in 2009 at Kabin Studios in Lusaka which was produced by Jerry D. Some tracks on the Album were
produced by Jerry Fingaz at flat line Entertainment. This Album became more popular in Eastern Province and
Chipata especially.

The Album won him his first Award in the eastern province Zakwathu annual awards which
were conducted under the then department of cultural affairs. His song ‘Wanitenga Mutima’ became a hit song
in chipata around 2010 that it received massive airplay on some local radio stations like Breeze Fm.  Mr Don is busy working on a number of songs with different
Zambian music producers. Actually his song titled ‘Nanaka Ukukulolela’ was produced by Chali Mulalami at sling
beats Entertainment .
