Kenyan gospel group Recapp is an Urban mission oriented Music Group based in Kenya and
have been active in ministry since August 2nd 2012. The group is
made up of four individuals; Nelly Tuikong, Ted Askoye, Edward Obura
and Emmanuel Mwongela.
The members of the Recapp group met in Moi High School Kabarak and embarked on a journey to
preach God’s message. Their mission is to raise a generation of young
people who are not only proud to be Christian but also find their
purpose in their lives through our music.

Tedd Askoye
Tedd cleared his secondary education in Moi High School Kabarak i the year 2013,having scored an A- grade. Recapp
was formed when he was in his last year of high school, so he found a
good balance between music and education. In Recapp, he is a bass
singer, a rapper and a beatboxer. In addition he is also a spoken word
artist and a clarinetist. Tedd is saved and uses his gifts to glorify
God and to minister to others.
Emmanuel Mwongela
He is a first
year student at The University of Nairobi, studying for a degree in
Bachelor of Commerce. He is saved and also very musically gifted. He is a
very good singer and an outstanding songwriter. Emmanuel also plays the
guitar.

Edward Obura
Edward also cleared his secondary
education in the same year as Tedd, and from the same school. He
attained a grade A. He is an outstanding rapper, having started to grow
his skill while in school. He used to perform in the Christian Union
services and also during the challenge weekends. He is a rapper and
songwriter in Recapp.
Nelly Tuikong
She is a first year law
student at The University of Nairobi. She is saved and is the lead
singer in Recapp. Nelly started singing in high school where she met
the rest of the group members, and has sang for the gospel ever since.
She also plays the guitar.
Their name
Recapp means recapitulation which means going back to the beginning.
The four, Emmanuel Mwongela , Nelly Tuikong , Edward Obura and Tedd
Askoye combine their talents to make an awesome team.
For instance, the
three young men can rap but they have their own style. The group
received four nominations in the recently held Groove Awards 2016 and
even though they did not win any of the awards I bet you that they are
not going anywhere and there is more to come.
