Siyabonga Sangweni Biography – Profile, Age

Doctor Siyabonga Sangweni is a South African footballer that plays the position of a defender for his country South Africa and for Premier Soccer League club Orlando Pirates the club he last played for. Born on 29 September 1981 in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal, He has played for Golden Arrows club before signing for Orlando Pirates in 2011.

His career was great but unfortunately in a press conference on the 7th of April 2016, Pirates’ chairman Irvin Khoza announced that Sangweni has been plagued by a string of injuries. Khoza said that after consultation, the medics have confirmed that the former Bafana Bafana centre back has to end his career early. Siyabonga has a younger brother Thamsanqa Sangweni who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns.
