Aliko Dangote is a Nigerian billionaire who was born on 10 April 1957 to Hajia. Mariya Sanusi Dantata (mother) and Mohammed Dangote (father), and as the great grand son of Alhaji Alhassan Dantata, the richest African at the time of his death in 1955. He is popularly known as the richest African man with an estimated net worth of US$12.5 billion through his business Dangote Group that operates across Benin, Ethiopia, Senegal, Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa, Togo, Tanzania, and Zambia.
Dangote attended Al-Azhar University, Cairo and is ranked by Forbes magazine as the 67th richest person in the world. His company covers food processing, cement manufacturing, freight, dominates the sugar market in Nigeria and is a major supplier to the country’s soft drink companies, breweries, and confectioners.
