Mulatu Teshome is a politician best known as the president of Ethiopia since 7 October 2013. He was born on January 1, 1955 in Welega Province and had his tertiary education at Peking University in China where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy of political economy and doctorate in international law. Prior to being the president he was Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Cooperation in the 1990s and also Minister of Agriculture in 2001.
