Azubuike Emanuel Egwuekwe was born on 16 July 1989. He is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays for South African side SuperSport United F.C., as a central defender. Egwuekwe has played club football for Nasarawa United, Yerima Strikers and Warri Wolves. Prior to the 2016 season, Egwuekwe signed a one-year contract, with an option for another season, with KuPS. In 2017 he joined South African Premier League club SuperSport United F.C.
Azubuike made his international debut for Nigeria in 2012, and has appeared in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. He was called up to Nigeria’s 23-man squad for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations. He was selected for Nigeria’s squad at the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup. He was named to Nigeria’s squad for the 2014 African Nations Championship.
