Edi Mūe Gathegi was born on 10 March, 1979 in Eastlands, Nairobi, Kenya. He is a Kenyan-American film, stage and television actor. He appeared as recurring character Dr. Jeffrey Cole (aka “Big Love”) in the television series House, as Cheese in the 2007 film Gone Baby Gone and as Laurent in the films Twilight, its sequel The Twilight Saga: New Moon and Darwin in X-Men: First Class. He also featured in a short television series, Into the Badlands as Baron Jacobee.
He was more interested in playing basketball and was good at it, until he injured his knee; this plunged him into depression, so he took up an acting class as an “easy course”. This is how he discovered his love for acting. Afterwards, studied at New York University’s Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts, graduated in 2005.
Looking into his areas of acting we have him in the following movies; Haitian Cabbie in the 2006 film Crank, Bodie in Death Sentence, Darudi in The Fifth Patient and Cheese in Gone Baby Gone, XMen-First Class, Shiva and May, Aloha, Twilight, My Valentine 3D just to mention bur a few.
He’s has also been a recurring character in NBC’s television series, The Blacklist as Matias Solomon, an operative for a covert organization.
