Eritrean singer and actress, Helen Meles who is popularly known among the Eritrean people and other countries and has released several albums and appeared in many top-rated Eritrean films. She is of the Tigrinya ethnic group.
Helen began her musical career early, at the age of eight, when she joined the Sudan-based Red Flowers band called Kassala and she performed in different parts of Sudan as a lead singer.

Helen joined the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF) when she was just 13 years old and was enrolled in the organization’s revolutionary school. At first, she was a war combatant with the group but later transformed to a prominent singer. Helen has released several albums which includes:
- Kuhulay Segen – 1997
- Ti Gezana – 1998 (Remix of Tebereh Tesfahuney Oldies)
- Mamina (Remix of Amleset Abay Oldies) feat. Amleset Abay
- Remix Of Kuhulay Segen – 2000
- Res’ani – 2003 and Halewat – 2006
She has excelled greatly in her profession and won the Sham EriTv Award as the Top Ten Love Songs in 2001. She has also been nominated for several other awards.
Aside from her excellent albums, she has also featured in movies like: Fikrin Kunatn (1997), Mesilka’we (2000), Rahel (2002), Manta Fikri (2004), Tuwyo Netsela (2006), Menyu Tehatati (2007) to mention but a few.

Helen got married to Eritrean saxophonist Issac Asefaw in 2007.
