African American Fitness icon Obi Obadike who is one of the most recognizable figures in the bodybuilding industry. He was born in 1976 in Southern California, America.
Recognized as “the most ripped fitness model in the world”, Obadike had always played sports growing up, but he was very skinny as a child and found himself bullied because of his small body frame.
To overcome this weakness, he embarked on his fitness journey at the age of 16. In 1994, Obi had began to build a very aesthetic body and then began pursuing a career as a model.
In addition to his modelling career, he also wanted becoming a successful athletics star. He lost this dream to a series of hamstring injuries after years of breaking records throughout his youth thus ruling him out of sprinting.
Obadike is the first American fitness model to land a major European advertising campaign, and first American fitness model to be featured in a natural bodybuilding magazine in Australia.
