Onyinye Okafor Biography - Age Husband

We have the tall light skinned beauty, Onyinye Okafor. She’s a Nigerian actress and anchor who has become famous in the Nollywood movie industry. The ever-bubbling dancer was born in Abeokuta, Ogun state in southwest Nigeria.

Education

She had her primary education at Queens Nursery/Primary School, Alagbado, Lagos. For her secondary education, she attended Elonam Secondary School, Alagbado. Finally, she had her tertiary education at Olabisi Onabanjo University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University), Ago Iwoye, and graduated with a degree in Mass communication.

Career/Family/Background

Onyinye Okafor’s childhood wasn’t that rosy. She’s the first child in her family and didn’t come from a rich background. She hawked, peeled egusi, for them to eat. Regarding her position in the family as the first child, she had to drop out of school for years for her siblings to go to school.

From her early years, she has always had a passion for acting. As a child, Onyinye Okafor would sing and act in my Catholic church. This is what she had to say in an interview with Sunnews;

I remember we had a small drama team and during Passion for Christ, I would act Mother Mary and the rest. I was later featured in this strictly-for-youth show on AIT. And after some other little acting, I went for the Miss Galaxy pageant.

Finally, she took the bull by the horn by registering as a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Lagos Chapter. From that moment she started going for auditions and later did two films, Day of Atonement and The Cornel. While her mother was okay with her career as an actress, her father wasn’t in support. According to him, actresses were usually wayward; and neither got married nor had kids. Today he’s now in support of her career as an actress and even regretted it when he opposed it years back. Her first time as an actress wasn’t that easy as the actress she was acting with stated that she could not act.

Her first movie as a lead character, it was with Ken Erics, and its title is My Wife’s Wish. People see her as a hard person in movies but in reality, she’s a very soft person. According to her, one of her biggest movies is Mrs Trouble where she acted alongside Nollywood superstar Mercy Johnson.

Husband/Marriage

She got married in 2009 while in her third year at the university. This is what she has to say;

That year, I had my first child, a twin that almost destroyed my life. In fact, they (my in-laws) told me to leave school and come and be selling palm oil in the Ajegunle market. They said their brother was not meant to sponsor me through school because he’s the only son among six sisters; they were all jealous. It wasn’t funny. Can you imagine, in my final year, they said I should leave school and start selling palm oil in the market. I said, ‘To hell with you, I’m going to be a graduate!’ It was a battle, but I’m a survivor, I’m always a survivor.

She’s a proud mother of four lovely boys. Currently, she’s divorced. Her net worth remains unknown as at the time of writing this article.
