Kutazwa ‘Rooksy’ Gqirana famously known as Rooksie is a popular South African reality TV star, model, and entrepreneur. Born in Gqeberha, a city on Algoa Bay in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province, but she now resides in Capetonian. She relocated to Keiskammahoek, Eastern Cape, to pursue her high school and later relocated to Cape Town.

After many years in Cape Town, we can call her a Capetonian, since she has been a resident of the Mother City since 1999.  Her real name is Kutazwa Gqirana, while her nickname is Rooksy, although she removed the “y” and changed it to Rooksie. Her parents’ names are; Thembsie and Joe.

“I’ve always had a passion for all things beauty and fashion,” Gqirana said.

“I decided to leave the call center job and focus on my love for beauty and fashion.

“I did a one-year beauty course and later traveled to China to see how I could monetize my passion.

“Because I was into beautiful clothes, that’s what caught my eye.” 
“When I noticed that the business was growing, I created an online platform and sold clothes that I would source when I traveled to Hong Kong, Dubai, Beijing, and other places,”.

The mother of four has a partner who goes by the name Tony “Big T” Mordi, and according to her they’re planning to get married. Rooksie also stated that she’s planning to have a fifth and last child with her partner. She’s from Blawa (New Brighton). Her social media account has grown, precisely her Instagram, which has gained more than 100,000 followers.
