Melissa Mulungi, affectionately known as moniker Melbs or Munamasaka, is a Ugandan-born R&B and Afro-Urban singer, content creator, and philanthropist raised in Germany. With roots tracing back to Masaka, she bridges her cultural heritage with contemporary musical expression.
Music has been part of Melissa’s life since childhood—she began singing in a church choir at age three. It wasn’t until her return to Uganda in 2020 that she recorded and released her debut single, “Empire of Love.” She followed this with her songs “Make You Proud” (2021) and “One Life” (2021), each showcasing her soulful blend of Afro-R&B influences.
Driven by a strong sense of social responsibility, Melissa founded the Children’s Health Empowerment and Care (CHEC) foundation at just eighteen years old. Her NGO began as an initiative to introduce modern technology to children in need but has evolved into sustainable projects, such as poultry and farming, to make a lasting impact on their communities.
