Mercy Olufunmilayo Adesanya-Davies,  I love to read and write poems as a very strong hobby. It gives me joy makes me happy. It helps me express my thought, my mind and write out my reflections and remove stress.

Mercy Olufunmilayo Adesanya-Davies, B.A (Ife), M.A English (Ilorin), Ph.D Applied Linguistics & Communication Studies (Port Harcourt) and P.G.D.E (Port Harcourt) is a linguist, educationist and an expert in the field of communication studies. Mercy, an academic and educational consultant, a Professor, is the current Director of General Studies of Rivers State University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, where she has lectured in language, linguistics and communication studies in the past twenty five- years. She also facilitates courses in Language and General Studies at the National Open University, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria and served on sabbatical, as a Dean at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Regent University of Science and Technology, Accra, Ghana.

An External Examiner of Doctoral dissertations, to the School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South- Africa and a Visiting Professor to the University of Cape Coast Ghana, she has over one hundred national and international published articles and poems to her credit and has delivered several scholarly and professional and public lectures within and outside Nigeria.
Mercy is a member of; The British Association for Applied Linguistics (UK), Internationale de Linguistiquee (AILA), International Phonetics Association, UK., International Order of Merit and the International Biographic Centre, Cambridge- UK., American Biographical Institute (ABI) Research Board of Directors, International Reading Association (IRA) USA, Linguistic Association of Nigeria (LAN) Nigeria, The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) and Nigeria and Teachers Registration Council (TRC) Nigeria.
She also has several national and international accolades which includes: Great Woman of the 21st Century Award by American Biographical Institute USA (2005); Woman of the Year Award by International Biographical Centre (IBC) UK (2005) The Teaching Excellence Award by American Biographical Institute (ABI) (2006) The Achievement in Research Award by American Biographical Institute (ABI) USA (2007) and owns five Nigerian copy right permits on Audio Bibles in Nigerian languages.

Dr. Adesanya-Davies has made several contributions to communities both in the public and private sectors both locally ()and internationally. She is the Crest Editor and one of the erudite writers of the Nigerian well-celebrated and Presidential endorsed book, presented to all the universities in Nigeria: The Jonathan/Sambo Presidency in Nigeria: A Symbol of Peace, Unity and Progress – Foreword by General Dr. Yakubu Gowon. GCFR.
Mercy won the Spill Leadership Award for Education and Capital Development Drive in Nigeria (2012); and was conferred with the Honors of Ambassador of Peace of Universal Federation of Peace (Nigeria Chapter) in 2012 at the International day of Peace, with the Debate theme “Can there be Peace in our Region?”, She also won the Best Adjudicator Award at the South-South Universities Debate Championship held at the University of Calabar, Nigeria in June, (2012), with the theme Nigerian Oil: In search of Good Governance, as well as, Human Capital Development and Good Governance Award (2013) of The Spill Magazine at the Merit House in Abuja, Nigeria.
Mercy was recently conferred with ‘The Majesty Magazine’s ’Legend of Courage Award’ and the UN-POLAC World Peace Ambassador Award (Amb.P.) 2013. in recognition of her immense endorsement of the fundamental ideals and practices of the UNESCO through selfless services to humanity. A winner of Nigeria Woman of Excellence Merit Award, (WEMA), with the theme ‘WOMEN INSPIRING POSITIVE CHANGE’ in commemoration of international Women’s Day (IWD), 2014, A winner of Africa Achievers Merit Award by Team Magazine and Global News Magazine, Ghana, 2014; a winner of Great Africa Legacy Award by Noble Global News Magazine, Dubai, UAE, 2014; her latest book is titled; NIGERIA AT CENTENARY: ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SUCCESS STORY AND SURVIVING LEGACY.
