Umtata in the Eastern Cape, In South Africa  was born an actor on 27 August, 1990, by name Oros Mampofu. He grew up in the Fort Gale area. He is best known for his role as Jama, Thabo Maputla’s university roommate, on the SABC1 Soap opera Skeem Saam, first appearing in Season 3.
In 2015 Oros partook in a play where he played the role of Andile in the Mzansi Magic Original Moviee Rise. Another movie that exposed him so much was where he starred as Prince Phila Mbangatha, the rightful heir to a royal throne whose modern philosophy is at odd with his traditional responsibilities.
He also starred in the feature-length film “The Lucky Specials” which was produced by Discovery Learning Alliance and Quizzical Pictures which demystifies tuberculosis.
