Ugo Ihemelu having his full name as Ugochukwu Ihemelu. He was born on 3 April, 1983. He hailed from Eastern region of Nigeria and grew up in the United States. Ihemelu attended Cedar Hill High School in Cedar Hill, Texas (a suburb of Dallas), and played college soccer at Southern Methodist University, where he was named All-Missouri Valley Conference his junior and senior seasons.
