Promise Odika is a Nigerian actor. He was born on February 20, 1986 to the family of Mr & Mrs J. A. Odika. He grew up in Aba, Abia State and currently resides in Port-Harcourt. The third of four children, and was brought up in a low class environment. He is from Agbajah in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State. After his primary and secondary school education, he studied production management and directing in Nigeria Film Institute, Jos. His early struggle to make significant impact or rather create a niche for himself was known by his ability to believe in moral destiny of men and demonstrate his conviction wherever opportunity knocks.
Promise, actor, script writer, cum producer is the director of African Child Entertainment. Acting has always been my dream, till 2000 when it became a reality, he says. At the age of 14, he was introduced into the movie industry with the movie “Lost kingdom”, where he played an extra role. His notable performances in movies have been in blood for blood, Onye eze, hour of grace, fire for fire, to mention just a few. “It will interest you to know that the sight of a crying person makes him to cry”.
His first major character was in the Blood for Blood, produced by great movies production where he played the role of younger Ramsey Nouah. In 2002, when he was 16, he produced his first movie “Darkness” starring Omotola Jolade, Emeka Ike, Pete Eneh, John Okafor, and others. Promise, a gem of inestimable value, the blazing trail of our generation, and an example of inspirational youth also produced my beloved family, men at work, and the grand fathers. Aside the movie industry, the consistent symbol of truth has a gospel album soon to be released.
Having had the taste of adversity, Promise Odika knows how to welcome prosperity. He has featured in several TV commercials for Amobitters, Saggaz records, and eagle computers. The young talented fellow has not stopped breaking new grounds as he is making efforts towards becoming a lawyer as that has been one of his aspirations. He has received several awards and nominations for his work.
Promise Odika have acted along side Zubby Michael, Junior Pope, Hilda Dokubo, Amechi Muonagor and many others.
