Khanya Mkangisa Biography – Profile, Age

Khanya Mkangisa is a South African presenter and actress. Born March 13, 1988 (date of birth) in Peddie, Eastern Cape, South Africa as the only child of a single parent, she is best known as a presenter for YOTV and for hosting the e.tv reality competition series Shield Teen No Sweat Dance Challenge, in 2008.

Khanya made her TV debut as a youth show presenter on YOTV at the age of 14, where she remained for three years. She studied at AFDA in Johannesburg, achieving a BA degree in motion picture and television. She was a top achiever at school and a skilled netball player. She got her first TV job as a Grade 10 learner and the performing bug bit.

She played the starring role of Nonhle Minola in 2012, in the SABC1 mini-series Forced Love which – like uGugu no Andile – was part of the channel’s “Shakespeare in Mzansi” strand. Forced Love (originally entitled Goba Msenge) is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew, set in a contemporary South African setting.
