Pilato real/full name is Chama Fumba, he was born in the year 1984 in Ndola, Zambia.Palito is a Zambian hip pop recording artiste. PILATO, written as pilAto is an acronym for, People In
Lyrical Arena Taking Over.

Early Life

Born as FUMBA CHAMA in the year 1984 in
ndola, on the copperbelt province of Zambia. pilAto’s music is mostly
social commentary and just feel good music. Started out as poet at the
age of 10 and in 2010, poetry became the music.

Music Career

In 2010, pilAto won the NGOMA AWARDS as Zambia’s best poet, later
got nominated for the BORN AND BRED AWARDS for the best VIDEO 2011. In
2014, was nominated for the BEST COLLABORATION in the ZAMBIA MUSIC
AWARDS and won the same award. In the same year (2014) was nominated for
the BORN AND BREAD in the MOST CONSCIOUS song category.

pilAto has since released 2 albums to date with the recent one being
JUST STUPID, which was nominated for the BEST ZED ALBUM for the ZAMBIA
MUSIC AWARDS. With an ever growing fan base, pilAto has performed all
across Zambia and beyond.. Today pilAto boasts of a steady growing
fanbase in SOUTH AFRICA, CONGO, TANZANIA and in the UNITED KINGDOM
wihich has subsequently led to international collaborations and
engagements like the SANA FESTIVE in RSA where he is expected to perform
alongside HHP of SOUTH AFRICA, M.I of NIGERIA and MANIFEST of GHANA.

Regarded as the voice of the voiceless pilAto has remained a relevant
voice in the dispensation of DEMOCRACY in Zambia. With his intelligent
lyrics, pilAto has managed to affix art and music on the political
picture in Zambia today. As they say “if you don’t stand for anything,
you will obviously fall for anything” pilAto with his critical political
stand point, pilAto has endured fierce political threats but has
remained unmoved.
