Born on February 10, 1981 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States to a Nigerian parents of Igbo origin from Achi in Enugu State. Uzoamaka Nwanneka “Uzo” Aduba is an American actress and singer. She attended Medfield High School and graduated in 1999. Later she studied classical voice at Boston University.

Uzoamaka became famous for her acting role in 2003, when her performance in Translations of Xhosa at the Olney Theatre Center for the Arts earned her a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play.
