Nicholas “Nicky” F. Oppenheimer is a businessman and philanthropist known as one of the richest billionaires in South Africa. He was born on June 8, 1945 to Bridget (née McCall) and Harry Oppenheimer and his grandfather is Ernest Oppenheimer, founder of Anglo American and the first generation of the family to chair (from 1929) the De Beers diamond mining company in South Africa.
He attended Harrow School and Christ Church, Oxford, where he read Philosophy, Politics and Economics and took the Oxford MA. Nathan got married to his wife Orcillia “Strilli” Lasch, daughter of industrial tycoon Helli Lasch in 1968. He has a net worth of 7 billion USD as of 2017.
