Ebenezer Assifuah (Sion, Switzerland)

Ebenezer Kofi Assifuah-Inkoom was born on 3 July 1993 in Accra. He is a footballer from Ghana who plays for the Sion and Ghana National team as a forward.

Ebenezer has played for Liberty Professionals in his home country of Ghana before he switched to  moving to FC Sion. Assifuah has been described as a striker with power and scoring ability.

Club career

Assifuah stated his career with the Division One team Sekondi Eleven Wise where he exhibited himself by netting eight times.

Assifuah was very successful in the 2011-2012 Poly Tank Division One League, and 2013 African U-20 Championship qualification. Assifuah rose to become one of the most sought after by top teams in Ghana including Ebusua Dwarfs. Assifuah signed a three-year contract with premiership side Liberty Professionals. Assifuah took some time to adept at Liberty Professionals after his move from Sekondi Eleven Wise. He got his form back and netted four goals against Berekum Chelsea on the 2012 Boxing Day,

Prior to the end of the African Youth Championship, Assifuah had attracted the attention scouts of Italian Serie A side Udinese, and a move was deemed likely.

Ebenezer ended the FIFA U-20 Championship 2013 in Turkey as the top goal scorer. he secured a moved to the Swiss side FC Sion signing a 5-year contract. Assifuah netted his first goal in the Swiss Super League in his second game against leaders Basel on 28 September 2013.


International career

Assifuah was part of the FIFA U-20 Championship, Ghana team that went to Turkey 2013.
He finished the tournament as the leading goal scorer with 6 goals.

Senior Ghana National Team

Assifuah made his first appearance for the senior Ghana national football team in 0-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie with Mozambique on 27 May 2016.
