Born on 30 August, 1943 in New Brighton, Eastern Cape, South Africa is John Kani. John is a renowned writer, producer and actor, married to Mandi Kani and are blessed with a son (Atandwa), who also is an actor with his debut as on U.S. television on the “CW series Life Is Wild”. Kani started his career with a group of actors whose first performance was in the former “Snake pit of the zoo”, hence the name) in “Port Elizabeth” in 1965.
Kani is executive trustee of the John Kani Theatre Foundation, founder and director of the John Kani Theatre Laboratory and chairman of the National Arts Council of South Africa. He inputted during Captain America, Civil War, and many other movies.
John has won for himself several awards which include; Tony Award for Best Lead Actor in a Play (1975), Obie Award for Special Citations (2003), Golden Horn Lifetime Achievement Award (2010), Golden Horn Award for the Best Achievement (2010).
