British actress Clare-Hope Naa K. Ashitey who is of Ghanaian descent was born on 12th February, 1987 in Enfield. Her parents, Tina (a medical secretary) and Paul (a dentist) were from Ghana. She has two siblings.
She attended the Centre Stage School of Performing Arts, Southgate while she was equally being educated at the Latymer School, Edmonton, London, for seven years. In 2009, Clare graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies with a degree in anthropology.

She took a gap year between school and university to work on the film Children of Men (2006) which she starred as Kee. Clare has been into acting since 2005 and has starred in TV series. In 2010, she starred in Coming Up as Helen, Top Boy as Taylor (2011), Suspects (2014), Doctor Foster as Carly, Seven Seconds as K.J. Harper (2017) and Master of None (2017).
