Saycon Sengbloh is a name you might have seen on your screen. She’s an American singer and an actress born on October 23, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia to an American mother and Liberian father. She won a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play for her performance in Danai Gurira’ play Eclipsed in 2016 and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.

Her acting career began at Tri-Cities School for the Visual and Performing Arts, later Saycon attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia, where she studied music and Spanish before leaving to pursue a career in acting and music. She was a featured actress and vocalist in the newest generation of contemporary shows on Broadway and off-Broadway. Sengbloh was photographed and named one of the hottest up and coming acts in the annual juice issue of VIBE magazine. She co-starred in FELA! the first play on Broadway to feature the music of Afro-Beat legend Fela Kuti.
