Performance poet, actress, writer and theatre practitioner, Yusra Warsama, born in 1985 and grew up in Manchester. Although she was raised and grew up in the United Kingdom, Yusra is of Somalia origin. She is popularly known for her roles in The Last Days on Mars (2013), My Brother the Devil (2012) and Stolen (2011) and the recent TV Series Call the Midwife (2017).

She began her theater career at The Contact Theatre, Manchester, and at the same time studying (BA HONS) Criminology & Sociology. This gave her the opportunity to work alongside national and international artists and companies such as Morganics, Sista Native, Lemn Sissay, Victoria- Belgium, Afro-Reggae – Brazil, and a host more through the many art projects.
Aside from being an actress, Yusra co-wrote a play titled “Rites” which is about issues surrounding female genital mutilation
