Maryam Sanda is the wife and murder of Bilyamin Muhammed Bello, the son of a former PDP chairman, Haliru Bello who died after he was allegedly stabbed by his wife, Maryam Sanda, at their Maitama, Abuja residence. She is the daughter of Maimuna Aliyu, a former Aso Saving Bank executive and the grand daughter of Shehu Shagari (Nigeria’s first democratically elected president).
She got married on October 2015 and they have a daughter. Their marriage was cut short as a result of a disagreement making her to suspect infidelity. She was then reported to have stabbed her husband several times thereby killing him.

Maryam was consequently charged to court for murder alongside her mother and brother who tried to tamper with the accident scene to hide evidence.
