Fana Mokoena was born on 13 May, 1971. He is a South African actor and Political Activist. He played Rwandan general Augustin Bizimungu in the 2004 film Hotel Rwanda. He has also played in a number of theatre pieces, his most recent being Nongogo, directed by James Ngcobo. In 2013, Mokoena portrayed United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Thierry Umutoni in World War Z with Brad Pitt, and Govan Mbeki in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom with Idris Elba. He is an executive member of the 2nd opposition party in South Africa, the EFF, and a member of Parliament in the National Assembly.
