She won representation from agent Moonyeen Lee and a role in the Donovan Marsh film iNumber Number as part of the prizes for winning the second season of the SABC1 reality competition Class Act, in 2011. 

Tumie landed her first starring role as Lerato Bogatsu in the SABC1 drama series Tempy Pushas. After that, she had a starring role in the SABC1 political thriller Ihawu le Sizwe. She also starred in the film Avenged.
