Emmanuel Ogungbadero Hawwal was born 20 March, 1993 in Lagos, Western Nigeria. He is popularly known as “Scooby” from the Funke Akindele’s comedy sitcom “Jenifa’s Diary”. Emmanuel is a reggae/R&B artist. He He started off in 2012 when he made the top 15 out of 100 participants in the Pepsi campus musical challenge.
Then in 2014, He recorded his first single which was an Afro-pop jingle for the sitcom “Jenifa’s Diary”. In 2015, he represented various brands via commercials, to mention a few: Ambode’s A.P.C campaign commercial, Etisalat (Easy Clique with Olamide), Globacom (Data Share with Wizkid), Peak milk (wazobia) which he appeared on several of the billboards across Africa.
In the year 2016, he recorded a single “Missing Rib” an acoustic song that got a lot of positive feedbacks and he was called to take the role “Scooby” in “Jenifa’s Diary” which is the only musical role in the series. Then he made an appearance at the Dynamix musical marathon and got to the finals. Later on, he played a lead role in a musical series “A Minute To Shine” that featured the likes of “Skales” and “Samclef”. He also recorded several singles for the series.
Ogungbadero has worked with several artists over the past four years on their singles, composing, singing and directing the productions and they have been heard on various radio stations across the country. He persistent in his productivity and solicitous to attain greater heights in the entertainment industry has proven to be resourceful, relentless and has also shown great huge of courage and eagerness to take up new challenges.
His goal is to mesmerize the world with his reggae/R&B fusion alongside his deep lyrical content having his objective to hit platinum record sales on all his albums across the globe in the shortest while. Emmanuel with his charming looks and mesmerizing voice always keeps his listeners at awe and without an iota of doubt, he is a great potential and worthy investment.
He aspires to be like Idris Elba.
He has won several awards for himself among which is Actor of the Year – Nigerian Heritage Icon Awards.
