Uche Ekwunife is a Nigerian politician and member of the 8th Nigerian Senate. She was born on January 12, 1970 in Nri in Anaocha. She holds a degree in Business and accounting which she earned at the University of Calabar and an MBA at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.
Prior to her political career, Uche first had a career in banking where she rose to be an area manager. As a politician, she stood for election twice unsuccessfully before she was elected as a senator in 2015 for Anambra.

Uche is among the six women elected as senators in the 8th National Assembly. The others were Rose Okoji Oko, Stella Oduah, Fatimat Raji Rasaki, Oluremi Tinubu and Binta Garba. She belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but decamped to the All Progressive Congress..
In December 2015, Ekwunife was sacked from the senate by Senator Victor Umeh through an Appeal Court judgement. She has vowed to return to the senate in 2019 and is convinced to win the election under her new party (APC).
She is married to Chief Larry Ekwunife, a businessperson from her home community and they are blessed with children.
