Younès Belhanda was born on 25 February, 1990 in Avignon, a commune in southeastern France. He is a French-born Moroccan professional footballer (mid fielder) who currently plays for Galatasaray, and the Morocco national team.
Belhanda was raised in nearby Aramon. He is of Moroccan descent (from Taza) through his parents and has five other siblings. Younès began his football career playing for hometown club Racing Club Aramon. He spent one year at the club before joining MJC Avignon, a local cultural center based in his birthplace.
He has played for several clubs including Montpellier, Dynamo Kyiv, Schalke 04, Nice. On 28 June 2017, Belhanda signed for Turkish club Galatasaray, where he wears the number ’10’ shirt previously worn by former Galatasaray player Wesley Sneijder.
In May 2018 he was named in Morocco’s 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
