A Nigerian film actor, dramatist, folk singer, poet and playwright, am talking of none other than Jimi Solanke who was born in July 1942. After graduating and obtaining a diploma certificate in drama from University of Ibadan he moved to the United States, where he created a drama group called The Africa Review, focusing on African culture.

There in United States, Jimi made a name for himself in Los Angeles, California, where his storytelling career began, this made CNN to describe him as a “master storyteller”. Finally in 1986, he came back to Nigeria, though he didn’t come back alone but with three members of the African Review group to work with the Nigerian Television Authority.
