Noella Wiyaala (meaning “the doer” in her native Sisaala language) was born on 22 December 1986 in Wa, Upper West Ghana. She is a Ghanaian Afro pop singer-songwriter who sings in her native Sissala and Waale dialects and English. She came to limelight with her single “Make Me Dance” and her androgynous image. While growing up, Noella played football as a midfielder and acquired a reputation for being a tom-boy.
