Rehema Chalamila has her stage name to be Ray C. She was born 15 May, 1982 in Iringa, Tanzania. Ray is a popular musician, as her music is a mixture of Bongo Fleva, Taarab and R&b. Before venturing into music as a career, she worked as a presenter for the Dar es Salaam-based Clouds FM radio station. She released her debut album “Mapenzi Yangu” in 2003.
Among the countries Ray has visited and performed are East Africa, China, United Kingdom and other countries. Below are some of her work in music; Mapenzi Yangu, Na Wewe Milele and many more.
Ray has bagged several awards which include, Tanzania Best Female Artist, Female Artist from Uganda & Tanzania, Tanzania Music Awards – Best Female Artist and many others.
