FLOROCKA Biography

Nigerian Gospel singer and producer FLOROCKA real/full name is Akinwunmi Nathan Oluniyi Akiremi’, has been
into the music and production business for over 24years. Besides being
an accomplished Producer, Sound Engineer, Singer and Songwriter,
FLOROCKA, also known as ‘Akinwunmi Nathan Oluniyi Akiremi’, has been
into the music and production business for over 20years.

Besides being
an accomplished Producer, Sound Engineer, Singer and Songwriter,
FLOROCKA has written, co-written, produced and worked with countless
number of artists including ‘Michael Abdul’, ‘Shalamar’, ‘Midnight
Crew’, Áyodele Vincent’, ‘Wale Adenuga’, ‘House on the Rock’, ‘Sammie
Okposo’, ‘Mike Abdul’, ‘Jedi’, ‘Mike Aremu’, ‘Tosin Martins’, ‘BOUQUI’,
‘Kore’, ‘PITA’, ‘Peggy Otis’, ‘Nikki Laoye’, ‘Onos Bikawei, ‘Éloho
Efemuai (Aberdeen)’, ‘Ibiyemi’, ’TREM’ and many more.

FLOROCKA was born in the early 70’s. Schooled at Command Children School
Army Barracks, then Command Secondary School Jos. FLOROCKA was born in
Portharcourt, Rivers; Grew up in a family of levites. Lost my Dad at the
age of 6 (sobs); The only male in siblings of 3.

 According to interview from kemifilani blog “: My passion for music is practically ‘insatiable!’ Music started for me
in the early 90’s. About ’94 during the snoop dogg era! I read Law at
Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo), and during my study of Law
Music stole my heart -COMPLETELY! I longed to pursue my dreams of Music
Production but I knew I’d suffer a backlash in future if I didn’t see
my Law through.
During my Uni days I was part of several musical
groups. As at then I attended the ‘C & S Ayo ni o’ on Apapa Oshodi
Expressway. I had a PSR 630 keyboard then which i used to practice music
constantly. I played more music than i read my law books! Lol.  I had
an extra year eventually (speak about the price to pay for your dreams)
coupled with tons of ASUU strikes.”

FLOROCKA has
received several awards to his credit as a singer and producer as well.
In June 2011, his song ‘You are Lord’ topped the charts on the acclaimed
site ‘OURSTAGE.com’ and won the Grand Prize of $1,000. He received 8
Awards at the Mega Awards 2013, Top 30 Gospel Songs 2013 (by Global
Gospel Media Company), ‘Most Wanted Song’ and ‘Lyrics of the Year’ –
CCMA GHANA 2014 (Christian Community Music Award).

 FLOROCKA has also
received numerous nominations for being one of the best producers of his
time. FLOROCKA was awarded ‘The PRODUCER of the year’ by SAMSUNG,
nominated at AMVCA (Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award) for Best Sound
Editing 2015 for the movie ‘THE ANTIQUE’. FLOROCKA is known for his
crisp, crunchy and FAT mixes and mastering. As MTV Base once put it
‘Whenever there’s excellence, FLO isn’t far from it!’ FLOROCKA has Four
(6) albums to his credit – ‘The OverFLO’, ‘Another Christmas according
to FLO’, ‘Sanctioned’, ‘The Worship Sessions 1 & 2 and his latest
album ‘The IMPRESSIONS’. FLOROCKA’s sound is distinct and precise.

FLOROCKA also has a passion to teach both Artists and Engineers in the
production field as well. FLOROCKA currently runs an Academy where he
teaches students about Worship, Music, Business Ethics of Music and
Spiritual – Governmental positioning in Ministry. In his words ‘..when
all has been said and done, it all boils down to the Father of all
creation.
